Your choices
Depending on where you are based, and as provided under applicable law and subject to any limitations in such law, you may have the right to:
access your personal information;
correct incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you;
ask us to erase the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to restrict our handling of your personal information;
receive any personal information we hold about you in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or have it transmitted to another company;
object to how we are using your personal information; and
withdraw your consent to us handling your personal information.
Requests can be made to privacy@hyphenate.ai. You may update or correct information about yourself by emailing us at privacy@hyphenate.ai. Prior to responding, we may require you to verify your identity. Depending on where you reside, you may be entitled to empower an “authorized agent” to submit requests on your behalf; we will require authorized agents to confirm their identity and authority. You are entitled to exercise these rights free from discrimination. We may have valid legal reasons to refuse your request, and will inform you if that is the case.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you and how we use and share it; to request that we delete it; to request that we correct it; to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information; and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. Our use of advertising cookies and pixels on our website may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out of sharing at any time through the Your Privacy Choices or Cookie settings links in the footer of every page by turning off marketing cookies; this applies to the browser you are using. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sharing for that browser and set no optional cookies; if you have saved a cookie choice in Cookie settings, that choice remains in effect until you change it there. To exercise any other right, email privacy@hyphenate.ai. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the time the law allows. You may authorize an agent to make a request for you; we will ask the agent to show that authority.
Opt out of marketing communications
You may opt out of email communications by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email.
Where we transfer and store your personal information
We are based in the United States. When your data is transferred to us it will be processed in the United States and in any countries where our service providers operate. Such countries may not provide the same protections as the data protection laws where you are based. When we transfer data, we rely on this policy and ensure relevant safeguards are in place — for example, if you are in the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, an adequacy decision by a competent authority, contractual protections, or an available derogation. We also work with subcontractors and service providers who we believe maintain an acceptable standard of data security compliance.
Data retention
We may retain your personal information for as long as it is reasonably needed to maintain and expand our relationship and provide you with our Services; to comply with our legal and contractual obligations; or to protect ourselves from potential disputes. To determine the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process it, and applicable legal requirements.
Other sites, mobile applications and services
Our Services may contain links to other websites, mobile applications, and online services operated by third parties. These links are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. We do not control third-party websites, applications or services, and we are not responsible for their actions. Other websites and services follow different rules regarding the collection, use and sharing of your personal information. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Security practices
We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration and destruction of personal information we maintain. Unfortunately, data transmission over the Internet cannot be guaranteed as completely secure; while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its security. If we are required to notify you about a situation involving your data, we may do so by email or telephone to the extent permitted by law.
Children
Our Services are not intended for children, and we do not collect personal information from them. We define “children” as anyone under 18 years old. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child without verification of parental consent, we will delete it. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child, please contact us using the information below.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on our Services. We may also provide notification in another way that we believe is reasonably likely to reach you, such as via email.
Any modifications will be effective upon our posting the new terms and/or upon implementation of the changes on our Services. Your continued use of the Services after the posting of any modified Privacy Policy indicates your acceptance of the modified terms.
